I have been diagnosed as Bi Polar following mania as a result of ECT for depression. I’ve been treated for depression for a long time. This new diagnosis has thrown me, somewhat, as the mania I suffered was once and was as a result of ECT for depression.
I’ll be very interested to hear of anyone with the same experience. For now I have decided not to continue taking the recommended mood stabilizing medication. Anti depressants help a bit - but I am often low.
