Stoma retracted

hi all, just a quick question for those of you who have delt with ostomy’s. My son had a procedure done last week with scopes and diltations of his colon due to a stricture. 4 days later part of his stoma retracted inside for half the day with some discomfort and an unwilliness to eat or drink. After about 6 hours he finally starting to drink, his belly emptied and his stoma went back to normal. The thing is he wasn’t constipated but there were a lot of chunks of food. The next day this has happened again but to a lesser degree. Has anyone ever had this happen? If so what do i do about it and what causes it.

4 days is not alot of time for a stoma to heal.
I would expect changes for quite some time.
My son has had his stoma for 10 months now and there are days when it is “normal” other days it is enlarged and at times it has prolapsed.

Our goes out, where yours goes in.

They make special appliances for ostomies that are concave.

The comment about discomfort is the only thing to worry about and although he might have been in discomfort does not mean that the ostomy is the cause.

Good luck.
