Anyone else have times of hopeless?

yes that was a day when you were cute and humorous
and when I was seeing the world as beautiful and playful and a riches of goodness

but thats not how the world appears today, the day after an assassination
and when youre not at all cute or humorous

this isnt a game today

today this was a serious discussion about not having hope in a world that seems ever increasingly to be more cruel, self-absorbed and malicious

and lo and behold, a discussion like that became a cruel, self-absorbed malicious personal attack against me

congratulate yourself on being part of the much larger problem

you only proved my point

Have a Nice Day.

The posts for that day are there for all to read Trish. How about a little honesty, if you are capable of that?

So some days you are playing games but today you are not? How is one to know Trish what your state of mind and which you doing at any point in time?

Some days you feel the “world as beautiful and playful and a riches of goodness” and other days it is “increasingly to be more cruel, self-absorbed and malicious”? Geeze, how is one to know what your current mood is Trish when they can shift so dramatically?

Ah yes, the conversation is suppose to be about narcissistic personality disorder so maybe we should progress it to their problems with personal honesty? Or maybe we should progress it to their unstable personal concepts of self esteem? Or maybe we should progress it to their unpredictable moods? Or may we should progress to discussion of N’s paranoia?

reading the topic header, and perhaps the first sentence or two of my post would be a perfect indicator fo where I’m at…and umm…being fluid with emotions so one gets upset with upsetting news, and one laughs when people are being funny…thats called flexibility.

now, go pick a different target

I have been sick with bronchitis for close to 3 weeks now, missed my Christmas, and so today is the day my family comes over for dinner, presents and loving contact.

If you dont like reading about how moved I am, or how my hope runs thin on days when there is a cornucopia of bad news then by all means pick up a crime novel, or fashion magazine.

Youre in the wrong place, trying to accomplish the wrong things if youre trying to convince me or anyone else that I’m a N, or P or in anyway mentally unstable.

I’m fairly certain youre the only one here who thinks that.

Youre wasting your breath Gaye. Go bully someone else.

What you say or think about me has absolutely no value to me…and umm…you might notice, thats not what this forum is for.

Oh Bup, I like scriptures too. Here is one for you

Matthew 7:15

I don’t have to convince anyone of anything Trish, you are doing a fine job of that yourself.

Fine with me to continue the thread of how narcissistic and evil the world is as represented by the assassination of Benazir Bhutto but I beg to differ and again, suggest there is something wrong in idealization of a convicted criminal who embezzled at least $11,000,000 from her own country. Her election in a Muslim country most likely was due to electoral corruption and nothing else. She very likely is just another narcissistic psychopath who in the end, reaped what she sowed.

Very good Bup, I’m impressed, really am.

WY, I do not advocate assassination, but crooked politicians cause many deaths throughout history. Don’t want to go to much into politics here so suffice to say, I just would not make her assassination as an example of the evil in man destroying some saint because she was not one at all.

the topic was actually losing hope being a person with a moral compass and empathy in a world where it seems increasingly to be that self-centred and self-invested people do what they want when they want no matter who it hurts

its not about making saints of mere mortals
or about them reaping what they sow when theyre assassinated

and WY, I agree, its not right to assassinate in order to get what you want, or to kill innocent bystanders in the process

but bullies, abusers, self-interested N’s or P’s or the self-righteous zealots or staunch right wing Republican rich white men in office seem to think its always OK, they always seem to justify their actions, as if their decisions or opinions have any higher value than those of the populace, or survivors of abuse for that matter

its just goes on and on

nothing changes right?

it happened to Gandhi
Martin Luther King
Kennedy

none of whom were saints but they had the support of their people

Bup, I am even more impressed. I am going to take your suggestion on reading Shakespeare. I just had another to read King Lear which gets into sibling rivarly, an issue of close relevance to me of late.

Trish, I don’t know what you are talking about. Are you trying to blame Republican rich white men as condoning this assassination? Bhutto was a puppet of George Bush and the neocons. They are condeming it as they have suffered a major loss in their take over and run the world game.

Another point, Martin Luther followed Ghandi who was deeply morally committed in ideology.

Kennedy is another issue and no where of same caliber as the other two.

And yes I love politics so be careful about turning this thread into that.

Gaye,

I suggest you stop tisting my words around, making incorrect assumptions and faulty projections about what I do write, whether its about my character and morality, or what I post about this topic.

I will say one last time, if you care to engage in this topic, try engaging in what it really is rather than what you twist it around to mean.

Read the words and respond to those, not what you suspect I mean.

suspicions, projections, assumptions dont make for a worthwhile discussion

try and keep on topic

or, if you really dont want to, if you really want to turn it into something you THINK I’m saying, or want to convince everyone I’m REALLY saying, how about starting another thread of your own?

and lastly I’m not interested in what your take on politics is…its only barely connected to this topic

I suggest reading the topic header

Gaye,

Trish, Why do you persist in calling me Gaye? I feel you are trying to be antagonistic and abusive. Is there actually another ulterior motive?

Trish wrote: I suggest you stop tisting my words around, making incorrect assumptions and faulty projections about what I do write, whether its about my character and morality, or what I post about this topic.

I started that post by telling you I was not clear in what you were trying to express. It would be more helpful for you to clarify it rather than accusing me of things I was not doing.

Am I suppose to say “Yes Mam” to Ms. Controller of this Board in charge?

Trish wrote: Read the words and respond to those, not what you suspect I mean.

That is what I was doing. If you prefer I respond to other words, please highlight which ones.

Trish wrote: suspicions, projections, assumptions dont make for a worthwhile discussion

Hey we have something we agree on. So why don’t you stop yours?

Trish wrote: try and keep on topic

Well your topic is helplessness. Are you wanting me to give you info so you can use against me when time suits you?

Trish wrote: or, if you really dont want to, if you really want to turn it into something you THINK I’m saying, or want to convince everyone I’m REALLY saying, how about starting another thread of your own?

Trish, I have no recourse but to respond to what I think you are saying. That is my human dilemma. If you want no one to think you are an N, than stop using the same mind manipulative games that they use.

Trish wrote: and lastly I’m not interested in what your take on politics is…its only barely connected to this topic

Ouch, shouldn’t I report that as abuse?

Trish wrote: I suggest reading the topic header

You mean the part about being helpless?

Sorry, I’ve already experienced NPD. Learned my lesson. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

To you Trish. Happy New Year!!

haha

see? now youre being cute and funny again.

hahaha, I have never found sense of humor with the games you play but rather a sadistic streak? Am I wrong? Truth or tell?

“There is humour in the ridiculousness of human folly.” - Dalai Lama

“An old day passes, a new day arrives. The important thing is to make it meaningful: a meaningful friend - or a meaningful day.” - Dalai Lama

“There is HopeRenewal in the laughter and loving contact of family.” - Trisha

“I am SuperHero Humour Man!!!” - Trisha’s 11 yr old son

(oh, as an adjunct to Matthew 7:15, if you have some spare time and need some reading material, I hear Pigs Eat Wolves is an interesting book)

After last night -

I have a really grande dame for a mother, 76 but still full of class and grace and resilience and who can laugh (and make me laugh) at how ridiculous people can be

I also have a really good kid who laughs easily and entertains everyone else with his humour, and who is loving, not just with me but everyone else in his family

and I think I just realize, even in my darker, more hopeless days, when it seems the world is so self-absorbed and self-interested, that theres always family…and friends…theres always love and hope in my own little slice of the universe - in people…and between them

that maybe if I give up hope at times that anything could be good “out there”…at least it can be good “in here”.

I just wish there was a town, and a country that was more like that, than the one I live in.
