Thanks Sylvia, Christine told me to print out stuff to (to take to next doc). I will do that for sure (in case I get another bozo who tells me they don’t hurt, grrrrrrr)
Thanks for the info on gabapentin too!

My doctor is Dr. Kevin Hackshaw at OSU East Hospital. He takes Anthem which I have. The hospital is in a bad neighborhood. He many also have an office on campus but East is closer for me. He is with the OSU Dept of Internal Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology and his phone is 614-293-8093. He is a very kind and wise man. I give him printouts when I go. He diagnosed me after 38 years with other doctors not knowing what I had or saying it was fibro. Dr. Hackshaw says I have both. Good Luck, Grandma Sylvia
Right back atcha, Sylvia! You are very important to me too!
Hugs and spoons,
Pamela
Well said, Sylvia! That’s exactly what I wanted to say to Suri and you took the words right out of my mouth! (I’ve had it for at least 40 years too)
Hugs and spoons,
Pamela
Suri,
Pam and I were talking on the phone this morning. She said that Grandma Sylvia has great doctors. GM Sylvia is in around Columbus, OH. Is that too far of a drive for you? I am still looking and waiting on a callback from IU Medical. I will let you know what they say.
Grandma Sylvia, I too am taking the same combo plus the mexitil. The mexitil seems to be helping me. I don’t have the extreme pain that I had before in my nerves. Regretably, it is hard on my brain and thinking capabilities. I feel so stupid…not like I am downing myself. I just don’t feel as smart as I used to be. I think that I will suffer the dumbness to get rid of some of the pain. At least now it is “managable”
Big Hugs,
Christine
I posted in the other thread about the OH trip… I am ready to gas up the car and go! I could stay at a hotel and make it a nice mini vacation for myself. (I will go by myself if my husband can’t get off work)
I asked in the other thread about names and numbers of doctors. I will need that to look them up with my insurance.
((((THANKS SO MUCH!!! You all have no idea how grateful I am, I cannot tell you how grateful I am!))))
We all understand how frustrated you have been, Suri. I just hope you can get the help you need now.
Hugs,
pamela
Thank you everyone, and thanks Sylvia for the Dr. Info. I am going to call my insurance company tomorrow and explain my problem… it is in their interest to get me diagnosed and quit spending their money on all these doctors I have seen. If they do not know what I am talking about, I will have info for them. I may also tell them about my past doctor and how he ignored me three times when I complained about painful lipomas. When I finally get a diagnosis I am going to sit down and write that moron a letter. I will be nice though, hehe, I think he should know he was wrong when he told me lipomas do not cause pain. (for future DD patients he may have to avoid what I went through with him)
Suri,
We are just so glad to help you, honey. I know how bad my search to find a doctor to help me after I found out about DD. I was calling every doctor I could find. I finally found one after abotu 2 weeks of searching and funny, he is only 6 miles away! Good luck and keep us up to date with what you find out. We are all here for you.
Luv and hugs sister with lumps…lol
Christine
Funny I was talking to my husband and trying to think of the term back mice…(my low back was killing me from shopping) I said to him that my back ratts were sore. He started teasing me saying is your back in vagas? I was hysterical…he was going around the room going back a ratt…anyone?
Christine…I’m glad you can laugh with your husband about this ball-busting disease. My husband John and I laugh a lot at the ridiculous low level our illnesses have brought us to. He also has mobility problems and wears leg braces. Old age is not for sissies!! It would be worse if he was healthy and could not do anything because of me. This way we both mostly just live a quiet life of reading and watching TV. He just came back from the little pond just off my patio. He goes down to fish and enjoy the weather. I can’t even walk down the little hill to go with him but at least he gets out a little. So you have RATS…that is so much worse than MICE…so I guess I have some larger mammal…lets see…how about squirrels? My granddaughter volunteers at an animal shelter where they have two “crazy” squirrels who bit another volunteer multiple times when she went into their cage to feed them…so yes I have back squirrels!!! : ) : ) : ) Grandma Sylvia
