Hello,

I was recently diagnosed with chronic EBV. I am very confused by what this means. I have (since childhood) had problems with sleep, moderate to severe pain throughout my body, and dizziness. I recently had a baby and while I was pregnant I felt wonderful. After I had my son, the pain came back so bad I pursued it with my doctor. She sent me to a rheumotologist who did several tests but found nothing. She offered to put me on steroids I guess for the pain and swelling. I could not as I am still nursing my son. I left it at that, but this past week I became overwhelmed with the pain and absolute exhaustion, dizzyness to the point that I fell from a standing position. I went to my doctor again and she decided to test me for EBV. She said I was positive for both types. My results for the one type is active the right term? Was I think 134, but she seemed to be surprised by the result of the other type being 2800. I don’t understand what this means. I have looked on the internet to see any info on what a high result means but there is nothing specific.
Can anyone tell me what this means? She said I also have chronic fatigue as a result of the EBV. Does anyone else have this, if so, does it get progressivly worse?
I would really appreciate any help or advice.
Thank you,

Kel

is it EBV, CFS, HHV6, Lyme or what?

Hello all~ I have just been dx with EBV and have been told I am in the reactivation stage “extreme flair up”. I had mono as a teenager and I guess now blessed with the residual effects. Would love to know how you all cope with the extreme exhaustion, joint discomfort, dizziness.

just learned I have EBV after years of problems that have worsened lately…would like to learn more about how to manage it

Epstein Barr causes exhaustion, nauseousness, etc.

hi, hoping to find people to talk too, about symptoms and how they are dealing with this virus

i have had mono five times in five years and am getting pretty nervous about what the underlying cause is if there is one. my doctor is beginning to do tests to find out if there is something more to my recurring swollen glands and fever. i would just like to know what other people are going through similarly and how they are coping. would like to know about additional, reliable resources to research on my own.

Short version- my daughter is 5 back in april 2007 after a month 1/2 of being sick on antibiotics I took her to the er with other symptoms after 6 days and a kidney biopsy she was diagnosed with EBV- induced postinfectious gomerulonephritis. Still on meds for her blood pressure twice a day and still having high fevers and cold symptoms on top of getting tired easily. This is really getting old any thoughts suggestions.Help!! I thought maybe finding other people to talk to might help.
Thanks

I got diagnosed with EBV…gettting IV Vitamin Treatments

diagnosed with Epstein Barr, but have had chronic fatique and pain for so long. Getting worse. Want some answers.

Hi, I am new to the board. I was dx'ed with EBV on April, 23 2007. I was getting sick, getting better and getting sick. I went to the hospital to get some answers. I am some one that does not get sick often. While I was at the hospital they did some blood work and a urin test. Everything came back normal. They said it was a viral infection and that there was nothing they can do. They told me if I was not better in a week to make a doctor app. They also said to get plenty of rest and fluids. A week went buy and I still was not better. I called my doctor and made an app. They did a full work up of EBV, Lym and thyroid. When the results came back they were all normal. I was getting mad because I did not know what was happening. A week went buy and went back to the hospital because I started to wake up with panic attack's. They again told me there is nothing they can do. I then called the doctor and told him that I still had fatiuge and no appitite. He said he would call the lab and have them run test again with a check on my test levels. He also made me get an endooscopy to see if there was something wrong with my upper GI track. I stared to feel better got the endo done and when I got out of the appointment and saw there was a message from my doctor he said the test came back that I had EBV. I have relapsed about three times. I am still battleing it today. I started to see a therapist three weeks ago to help with the depression and panic attacks. It has helped a lot. I started on my antti depression meds last night.

I have fond many things that helped me with EBV. I baught a e-book on line that was very good. It was called "how I cured my EBV". Web md is very informitive. Take a multi V and V-C. Drink plenty of fluids, get rest when you feel tired. Try and do some exercise on the days you feel good, but don't over do it. They say that it could take months before you get your normal energy levels back. Try and keep a positive outlook. I know it is hard because of all the up and down days. This is my tenth week with this and I am starting to feel better.

You are not alone out there. I hope this helps people. Any question I will get back asap. Thanks and good luck.

I have had chronic EBV for years. Just wanted to know if any one has found how not to get sick every time you eat.

Hi my name is Michele and I would like to talk to anyone who could help me shed some light on this situation called Epstein Barr. I have it and I need some understanding. Thank you.

My daughter may have mono - so I’m just trying to find out additional info before we go back to the DR on Monday.

Recently diagnosed with EBV. Not sure how to help myself. Extreme fatigue, irritable, lots of aches and pains. Is there anything I can do? Is this forever?
