Happiness is hearing the laughter of a child, so carefree and invincible.
Also, happiness is rejoicing in my ability to love unconditionally. There is no deeper sadness than someone who can’t love.
Happiness is letting go…
To have such a good relationship with your mom and to be willing to meet all the challenges dementia presents, is very touching.
Happiness is what I wish for all of us in 2009…
Happiness is slowly learning little pieces of myself that I DO love even though I had forgotten how for a long time.
Hi Guys,
In response to spiritriver, i do totally agree with your comment about happiness. I too feel that it is important to look for the happiness and positives in other people. If we didn’t look for it, it would be a pretty hellish life. But, I was feeling so “safe” at the assembly, knowing no one is out to snare you into their behavior; or the other negative stuff. Remember, I drive a taxi at night, and see the negative stuff probably more so than people that don’t get exposed to the actualy lives of some of these “upstanding citizen,” boy! is that a laugh.
But you are right, we do need to look for the positive in people. I guess I need to try harder!
Happiness is being able to have a compassion heart. Happiness is that I didnt close my heart to love, to caring, and to others after having taken so many deep hits. For when you close your heart to hurt and pain, you also close yourself to the wonderful things in life that are out there. Happiness is being ABLE to care so much it hurts, because nothing feels better than loving someone so much that they make you so happy that you cry. I am glad I have feelings and a heart, even though at times you must endure that pain.
THAT’S GREAT, ANNA!
BON, I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN…
Hey Ike, I used to drive cab in Detroit, in fact, I owned one for a few years.
Yeah, some of the fares defy description.
I had fun sometimes too!
HAPPINESS IS KNOWING THAT WHEN SOMEONE SAYS SOMETHING STUPID ABOUT ME, I KNOW IT WON'T BOTHER ME BECAUSE I CONSIDER THE SOURCE AND I CAN JUST ~SMILE~
HAPPINESS IS LOVING WITH ALL OF YOUR HEART AND NOT HOLDING BACK.........WITH A BIG, WARM HEART~
Thank you Spiritriver,
I do totally agree with you about taxi driving. I do, for the most part, realy enjoy driving taxi. I do meet interesting people. We live next to the Umatilla Reservation, and since I’m part Indian, I usually have very little trouble with them, whereas the other drivers don’t like going out there. But I prefer going out there. It gives me a chance to touch "my roots."
Last night I had a good night, however, the dispatcher got kicked in the face by two females.
Then he got another passenger that was fighting with someone in his cab. Any way, it is always good to know that someone else understands. I’m really not as negative as that comment came across to everyone. HOwever, I have been fighting a really bad depression, and the bipolar hasn’t had proper medication. But he put me on Lithium and Trazazone.
Any way thank you for listening and understanding. And yes this is certainly happiness knowing that people care for you in CP.
HAPPINESS IS FAMILY AND FRIENDS TOGETHER FOR THE HOLIDAYS~~WHAT A GIFT. I AM SO THANKFUL!
Happiness is a world where differences are okay, and people acknowledge others for their efforts regardless of relationships.
Happiness is seeing the world abundant with plenty for all and where people are confidant enough not to need an army to back them.
Happiness is seeing people forgive and move on, lives rich with learning and kindness.
Happiness is being kind in the face of pain, rising above the impulse to hurt those that hurt you.
Happiness is having lots of room for loving all kinds of people regardless of their shortcomings.
Happiness is striving to be a better human being.
Happiness is not requiring friends to have spines that go ridged in the face of confusion or hurt.
Happiness is feeling loved.
Happiness is my “right this minute”
MY HAPPINESS EXTENDS TO ALL WHO ARE WILLING TO ACCEPT.
River, what do you mean “all who are willing to accept”?
You can’t give what others are unwilling to accept. I suppose then it’s a mere offering but still it’s only good to those willing to accept.
I saw an elderly woman who slept in the doorway of the building I worked in while living in LA. I almost had to step over her each day to get into the door. I always thought “She is someone’s Mother” and decided to make a lunch for her. I did, when I gave it to her one morning, she looked through the bag, not finding what she wanted, she tossed it into the trash.
She wasn’t willing to accept what I offered.

HAPPINESS IS... getting my hot water heater working
