Well…my father in law is out of surgery only 2 hours ago. They told us to expect it to take 6-7 hours…it took 12. They said that it was more extensive than they anticipated. There were many lymphnodes that were removed that had disease. He is in ICU tonight. That is all they are telling us right now. What is the next step? Since it was in his lymph nodes does that mean he needs chemo? Radiation? When do they stage the cancer? What should we ask tomorrow of the doctor?
We are so thankful he made it through the surgery, but are worried about the tough time they had.
Thanks
Deb
