I wanted to let everyone know about my experience in case it could help anyone. As I wrote before, my husband had a 1st semen analysis, and the nurse from my Dr’s office called (because I initiated testing) with the results. She reported that there was “no siginificant sperm found” and went on to say, “Your only chance for reproduction in through the use of a sperm donor.” After asking her if there was anything we could do, she told us to go see a urologist to “see if he can do anything.”

I had done some research, so I knew there was no way to know we had no chance for reproduction from a single semen analysis, so we did see the urologist. A second semen analysis showed a count of 9 million sperm with 50% motility. I understand that this is still significantly low, but we definitely have a few options to try to have a biological child together with this type of result.

I just wanted to let everyone know because I went through 3 weeks of thinking my husband and I had no chance of a child together even though it was not true.

We will see a fertility doctor in June.

Thanks Mil. Now I know that there is a reason to go see a urologist. thanks and I hope everything went well with the fertility specialist. if you’ve went if not let me know.

I am currently out of the office. If your matter can not wait, please e-mail utclearning@genphysics.com or call 866-828-7420 and ask for Nettie or Renee for assistance.
