Babies transitioning off of breastmilk to formula

I was wondering if anyone had any experiences, good or bad, when transitioning their babies with HD off of breastmilk to either formula, cow’s milk or soy milk. We’ve stopped nursing and we’ll be starting formula tomorrow, just regular old enfamil. He’s already eating two huge solid meals a day (jarred baby food, he won’t touch actual table food yet) and he did fine with no constipation or extra diaper rashes.

Has anyone had any trouble making this transition or has it gone smoothly for others?

My now 3-year-old had a little trouble transitioning, but it wasn’t too bad.
She transitioned off breastmilk early on to formula, and we used regular
enfamil. She had a little more constipation on the formula, so we tried the
soy formula, and the nutramegen, but neither seemed to help, so we kept with
the regular enfamil and it took about a month (if I remember correctly) for
her body to adjust and then she was fine. Then she went to regular whole
milk at a year old, and we switched her to soy milk about a year ago and
that seems to have helped. So, yes, we did experience some changes but they
really were only slight and it seemed to work out after giving it more time.

Good luck with it. I hope it goes smoothly for you.

My son Anthony was 11 months old when I had to quit nursing him, he did
really well on Isomil (soy based). Now as a 2 yr old he drinks regular
whole milk. Good luck!

My DD initially rejected formula and it was kind of funny. She nipped at the bottle nipple and refused to suck with a very concerned look on her face.

We wound up giving her premixed liquid Nestle’s Good start (orange can) and then transitioned to powder. So far, no spit ups or constipation, and no fussiness.
