Back in the Hospital again

My friends,

I am in the 10th day of one hell of a flare-up. Tried to nurse it at home, ER trip with fluids but opted not to stay. Thursday night
MD call that resulted in a flat admit and many scares to follow. My WBC 16, LIPASE 99!!, sed rate high, liver enzymes elevated and sicker than I have ever been as far as vomiting goes.

So in short, I am still having pain that is requiring meds every 2 hours, 2 types of anti-emetics, IV fluids with no end in sight yet.

As soon as I can, I will get back on and tell you about some of the networking I have been doing about our get the info out idea.

I pray that as I am running with this beast that it’s attentions are momentarily turned away from you and focused on me so that you may have peace from this beast who torments us so badly. Eat something warm and with taste today because a CP’er can’t tonight, Kiss someone or something you love tonight because someone with CP is seperated from their loved one either by a hospital or their head in a toilet bowl, and lastly take many breaths that are deep, clean and pain free because someone with CP is panting alcohol laden, painfilled shallow breaths.

Please send thoughts and strength, I need them so.
Love and wishing for you a pain free day,
Angela

Take care of yourself. Sending good thoughts and lots of strength to you!

Dear Angela,

You are back in the hospital again? I know how much you must have tried to avoid it because I do the same thing. Right now what you have to do is to try to relax and concentrate on the treatment. If you are not calm down the pain gets worse and your recovery takes longer time. Don’t worry about the numbers! I know it’s scary. Once I stopped counting my attacks and the numbers, sometimes they used to be in 2,000 levels, I know I can’t help change them. At least I should try not to think about them and focus on getting better and come home to the family as soon as possible. My liver levels used to go up too. If I go to the hospital now they might tell me that they are going up sometimes. Then my GI doctor will come and say that you need total Pancreatectomy which may result in Type 1 diabetes but we’ll take care of it. I know how much they took care of my pain. They said, when I have these procedures, surgeries everything is going to be alright. My surgeon is against taking away the whole pancreas as I’m not a very old person.

I’m telling all these things because *the more you worry the more you get upset and it is not going to help you any way dear! * Try to relax reading a book if you can concentrate, watch your favorite program, or *just imagine a beautiful place in the wonderful nature adding all the favorite things in nature like flowers, your favorite birds and so on using visualization. * You’ll have a safe and beautiful place to travel without paying any money and also feel better whenever you need. Try it and see whether it works or not.

WE are all praying and keeping you in our thoughts. I’m sending SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH LOVE AND SOOOOOOOO MANY HUGS, just imagine when you read this I’m there literally with you and hugging you. For vomiting have they tried Zofran, which has become wonder medicine to control the nausea and vomiting? If you haven’t tried it please try to discuss this with your doctors. Don’t you worry dear just tell yourself that it is another episode and it’s going to go away. I really hope they can find something that what is causing these attacks and treat it so that you’ll NEVER HAVE THESE ATTACKS IN YOUR LIFE.

*If that’s not possible right now please think that you are not alone suffering like this. * WE are all going through the same situation. I think everyday at least few of our friends among us have very hard time with excruciating pain. I call this stupid thing as BEAST too! But we cannot let that beast take control of ourselves. We should be able to control at least some times and stand up to it strong as we fight with it.

Hope this resolves soon and get back to us asap. Remember that we CARE ABOUT YOU AND OUR LOVE IS WITH YOU ALL THE TIME.

Lots of love and many hugs darling.
Durga.

Hi, Angela,

So sorry to hear you're having a terrible time and in the hospital.  Just know we're all thinking about you and sending lots of healing thoughts and positive energy your way, okay?

It makes me so sad to know the pain your in, and until anybody experiences "the beast" first hand, they have no clue about the unfathomable amount of pain we endure if / when an attack presents -- especially when we're "in it."

I sure wish I could help ease the pain and make sure you're at least resting comfortably.  Maybe if you read this, you'll smile knowing we're all thinking of you and sending our very best!

"This, too, shall pass."

Big hugs!

Mangela,

I am so sorry that you have had 10 days so far without an end in sight. Gad, I hate it in the hospital as they NEVER let you sleep worth a tinker’s damn. This is anathema to a patient’s efforts to get better and healthier as they can’t sleep and, by the time the patient leaves the hospital, s/he is so exhausted by the time that s/he gets home. This was the worst part of my four-day stay over Memorial Day weekend. So, as you wish for us to eat, love, and kiss that which is so remote from us while we are in the hospital, I am wishing that you get as much sleep as you can. I had to finally YELL at the staff to leave me ALONE from 12AM TO 6AM PERIOD! WAS SO MAD AND SO EXHAUSTED AND SO SUICIDAL BY THEN THAT I HAD TO HAVE THAT REST OR I would have ended it all. I even called the suicide hot line and that was a bummer as well.

So, get rest. I will eat, hug, and kiss as you have asked me to do while you do as I ask you to rest.

You are in my thoughts.

Anyse

Hope you are feeling a little better today, I’m thinking of you, try to relax so that your body can heal faster and you can be home. LMA

Angela,

I can most truly empathize and am sending you tons of wishes for less pain and for getting home soon!

Keep hugging yourself, find something funny in each difficult day, and hang in there! We’re all here for you and wishing you all the best.

I hope you’re starting to feel a little better!

Many hugs,

Lisa

Hello to all my friends,

Your kind words have meant so much to me this last 12 days. I am getting a little stir crazy but I am renewed in my resolve. I no longer timidly ask for pain medicine like I am sorry that I have to ask. I also used to wait until the very last minute before I took anything so that my management of the pain was an illusion. But as i started down the hall towards my room, all of your voices came together and I heard all your trials and tribulations and it stopped all the voices of self-doubt. It sounded like a glorious choir edging me forward.

“Go forward my sister, for the grooves you see in the hallways were made before you. Go forward my sister ,for the muffled tears and stifled hem boails of pain and fear you hear are not yours.” Your tears, cries and pacing will bring a new timbre to these old hallways.

The greatest thing about my stay here is that I have been preaching about the people and lives behind PC. I even have a GI doc who sounds interested in introducing me so I can talk to them. I even directed him to our site so he can experience for himself.

Well, my precious friends, I am going to try to sleep. HERE’S TO ONE MORE PAIN FREE DAY!!!

With Muchhhhhhhhhhhhhh Love,
Angela
