Bowel Problems with Secondary Addison's Disease

I have been having a lot of GI problems the past 6 months. I went to the specialist today and she said that it may be related to my Addison’s. Does anyone have GI problems related to Addison’s and if so what are they and how do they treat it? I have not yet been given a diagnosis so I do not know what the plan is. All I know is I have sever cramping that is causing me to not be able to sleep and I am in the bathroom at least 10 times a day. I also vomit a lot, at least once a day. I am going to a new endo Monday, March 24. Any help would be greatful.—Toni

Hi Toni, =0D

Addison’s patients tend to have diarrhea and vomiting when their cortisol
levels are too low. This response (losing fluids at both ends) is a very
bad thing because one of our biggest dangers is dehydration. Be sure to
mention this to your endo tomorrow!=0D

I have been having the same problems. I cramp so badly at times that I can not stand. It seems to occur in the evening, not mornings. I take so much Mylanta that it is scary, but that does not seem to help. I need advise, also.

Hi there
I too have the same cramping problems and spend a lot of time in my bathroom… I take solucortef injections as soon as the cramping starts. Now i am pretty much living on them because i do not know what else to do … the injections are the only things that help with the pain…
wish you lots of luck and keep us posted i would love to have a nother way…
