Anyone know if low B12 can cause a burning tongue?

Mine was tooth extraction. Damage to 5th cranial nerve. Neuropathy and
it sucks! lw

Julian Whitaker’s newsletter has touched on the myriad of problems caused by B 12 deficiency, but he has never mentioned Burning mouth. I doubt it is common enough to merit much attention in either mainstream or alternative medical newsletters. It would be interesting to find out whether you are on to something helpful for all of us!

I believe it was Univ of Minnesota Dental that I read that vitamin 12 deficiency
can cause burning mouth.

In my case, it is the excessive proteins in my saliva.

I don’t know why but I couldn’t log in last time I wanted to respond.

The excessive proteins in my mouth was diagnosed by Ia City

I sugest trying a Vit 12 supplement…Also, try washing your mouth with
Neutrogena before brushing. It is not as bad as it sounds. Just don’t swallow until rinsed. Drink lots of water all day long.

Also, so many post with same topic…not sure which post to respond to.

I went to an Dental Pathologist at Ia City…it seems that the U of M Dental

understands Burning Mouth…My Dentist said it was all in my head.

Your dentist may think it is all in your head which is true…the
mouth to be exact. He’s a dingbat if he does not believe you have
true pain, I know I do and a hellava lot of it! lw

Subsequent to that conversation I let the Dentist read the Pathologists report from Ia City.

I had also been to a Ear, Nose, and Throat Doctor. What a waste of time and money.

These are some of the reasons I posted the links to the U of M…The Dental Patholigist I went to at Ia City has died. It seems impossible to find any Doctor that has any interest in solving this problem.

lsw…it would seem that Burning mouth/tongue brings out a lot of Dingbats in the Medical Community. (If it isn’t happening to then it doesn’t exist)

Dingbats for sure…I saw 6 dentists and 5 doctors all having no
clue. Thank goodness my neurologist just gives me what I asked for
from my own research. lw
