Celebrate!

Hey friends - I just wanted to let you all know that this month marks Tasias 2nd year being Pancreatitis free!!! We could not be happier to have our baby girl healthy! All thanks and glory to God for his healing power and wisdom that he bestowed on us as parents and her awesome doctors!!

If you or your child are suffering now with this I just want to encourage you that there is success in this. My husband and 5 year old daughter have dealt with this to very very serious levels and yet are doing great today and living healthy lives.

God bless you all and I pray that with the help of Jesus you too get the success we have!

-Jill

So what did you do to achieve this success?

Vonnie

Definitely something worth being happy for! Congratulations and wishes for continued good healt of the pancreas!

Jill,
Congratulations!!! As a parent of a daughter with CP and wife of husband with it also, I imagine you must be jumping with joy. I hope it continues for both of them and of course you too. You could offer me a BILLION dollars and all the trimmings, but to not see my daughter in pain every day would be the greatest treasure there is. God Bless to all of you and keep up the great work.
Terri

I also meant to say congratulations!!! It is so good to hear that someone has had some success.

Jill

Congratulations to you and your family!

Vonnie - detailed info is in my bio info but to sum it all up in short -

The best things we found to help while she was having attacks was - heat for pain (along with liquid Lortab) - doing this we were able to treat her at home when it wasn’t as severe. I recommend rice packs and hot baths!!!
-Prevacid everyday because stomach acid can irritate the pancreas causing attacks
-we didn’t control diet ridiculously but cut out fried foods and we switched her from cows milk to goats milk and I’m not sure if it was coincidence or not but things started improving drastically when we switched that around too.

  • Myrolax for constipation which was SEVERE!

But the thing that I believe (along with much prayer) was her stints. The first few didn’t do too much. But the last one was huge and was placed in with hopes to scar open the ducts and help her pancreas drain better. Her specialist kept telling me that he believed he could fix her without major surgery like her daddy. And here we are 2 years later pain free.

You know the one thing I have found out Vonnie is that nobody is the same and you have to experiment to find what works for you. But I have 2 people with stories that would bring you to your knees in tears if I got into them because it became so severe for both of them- but I have those same 2 people with SUCCESS STORIES to share with all of you in hopes that we can be of encouragement that there is hope and with God and good doctors, you will find them too!

Good luck to you! I’m always here if you need me -

JILL

Thanks for the reply. I’ve thought about using goats milk. I use soy milk but that seems to be painful also.

I like to gather information in the hopes of helping others. My panceatitis is not real severe. I am truly blessed that way.

And I agree that Prayer is important. In my mind it is the most important thing.

I am glad that your family is doing so well. What a blessing.

Keep the Faith and God Bless,

Vonnie

My daughter didn’t do well with soy at all - Goats was the best and the health food store carries 1% too.
