Chicken pox

I was researching RSD and researchers are now exploring a chicken pox and RSD connection. I was wondering how old you guys were if and when you had the chicken pox. How bad was the case etc. Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I did have the chicken pox around 1972-1973, I was 6 or 7 at the time, and
it was pretty bad. I would be interested in any info you come up with.
Thanks…Ang

I believe I had the Chicken Pox when I was around 7 or 8. I can’t remember my exact age but, they were horrible!!!I was covered from head to toe and I even had them in my mouth and other area’s I won’t discuss, also there are a few a scarrs.
If any information becomes available other RSDERS would definitley be appreciative… God Bless,

                                             Kris B.

Hello!
My brother is about 6 years older than I, so he brought everything home to me – from school.
Therefore, I believe I managed to catch most diseases – even before entering school, myself!
However, my youngest son never did aquire Chicken Pox (no matter how many times he was exposed) so - in his late teens - I made him get vaccinated.
I’ve seen adults w/Chicken Pox – it’s certainly not a pretty sight.
Now, though, comes the “head-scratcher” :
He does experience - from time to time - unexplained allodynic pain.
I suspected a drug he must take regularly but our doctor says there’s nothing in the literature
indicating allodynic pain as a side effect.
Hmmmmmm…
There is also another rsd-type symptom that he experiences sometimes…but my little “pea-brain” cannot seem to recall what it is at the moment. :-0
(I hope you guys forget things mid-stream sometimes, too!)
Food for thought.
Sincerely,
Annabelle

lol I do forget things midstream sometimes. So when I get stuck and I’m among close friends…they giggle with me as I try to describe it! I want a…you know…um…the thing, you peel it, its a fruit… yeah we know and love you just the same!

Jen,
I did have my chicken pox at 6 years of age. My mom said it was a bad case and she thought I would never get better. I have numerous scars also from mine. One of mine is even on the center of my nose.

Wishing everyone the best,
Lori

I had the chicken pox when I was little, like between a year-year and a half. I had them bad, my mom didn’t think I was ever going to get better.
