Chronic pancreatits causes severe pain in my back

Does anyone understand the severe pain in my back. It is always there but lately has been quite unforgiving. I don’t understand the connection. Anyone? Thanks, Sharon54

Look up Auto Islet Cell with Pancreas Transplant online and you will get a host of information about it, doctors are doing this as a long term method to help people. Do you have access to facebook? There’s a support group I just joined with a host of people who have done it and others who are still battling CP we all speak daily to each other, everyone posts lots of questions about the surgery and other people who still battle CP also talk to each other, just look up Life after pancreas on facebook you will find the group but in the meantime look up "Auto Islet Cells with Pancreas Transplant online and you will see what i mean.

Sharon54,

How long have you been dealing with CP and have you considered the pancreas transplant with the islet cells usage?

Depending on the location, it could be the pancreatitis. One of the symptoms is pain radiating to the back. Most commonly upper left abdominal area. I think it has something to do with the pancreas being located in the middle closer to the back but I don’t know for sure. If you asking besides this, then I have no idea, sorry.

Jenny, It has been a year in October. I really don’t know what that is. What is it and what does it do? Does it help long term? Thanks, Sharon

Dear Sharon54,

the problem is that the pancreas itself does not hurt. What you feel is the pain radiating from the pancreas to the nerves that affect other parts of the body. I have CP for years now as well and this is one of the problems. Good luck; warm baths, light message and water, water, water. . .

I often have pain radiating to my back with attacks, am told this is common. ~ Angie
