This is my first post and I hope to get a positive experience from this community :). I have a problem with anxiety, it forces me away from situations, causes me to make impulsive descision, and turns me away from people. Normally I am good at hiding anxiety, however I’m just sick of being so anxious all together. I’m currently seeing a psychologist but still seeking alternative help. I do not want to go on medication - ive had poor experiences with medication. I’ve tried anxiety relief techniques and haven’t had very much sucess (i.e. visualization, controlled breathing). The only thing that seems to really work is if someone else calms me down (which would be embarassing in a social situation) or if I am relaxing by myself for a period of time. My next challenge is to participate in a required debate. This means that I must cope w/ my anxiety while still sucessfully articulating my ideas. I honestly feel like I’m just gonna be a nervous wreck. If anyone has any ideas please respond, your advice would be much appreciated.
