Coping

How do I cope with my baby having anencephaly?

Dear Faith,

I am sorry that your baby has anencephaly. Were you just diagnosed?
The initial diagnosis is very shocking and upsetting. The road to delivering your baby will be bittersweet, but having delivered my son in March, there’s nothing worth the memory of holding him in my arms.

I am so sorry this is happening.

No I was diagnosed back in Feb. when I went for a routine ultrasound for something else. Over this last week the reality has really started to set in. I thought that I was going to loose my baby this week when I started to have some complications. I was put on bed rest for awhile for percaution and have been taken off bed rest since, but I’m not ready to deal with arrangments that need to be made and the coming of my baby in just a few short weeks.
