I go back and forth with a Cushings like syndrome and secondary adrenal insufficiency. I have a buffalo hump and swelling around my neck. I believe it’s due to infiltration of toxins. Does anyone else have this?
Sharon,
If you have a hump, you are taking too many steroids. Your endocrineologist needs to perform a 24 hour urine to get your dose correct. Also, you may need Florinef to control your electrolytes. Have they checked your thyroid? A blood test would tell you if need Florinef and if your thyroid is functioning correctly.
I was diagnosed with Addison’s Disease in 1974. My Dr. tests annually to make sure my doses are correct. You should also have a bone density scan to make sure you don’t have bone thinning from the steroids.
I believe if you could get your medicines regulated, you would feel much better.
I golf, mow the grass, clean house, go to the gym and whatever else I feel like doing. I believe I have more energy than the average person.
Carol

Subject: [addisons] Cushings & Adrenal Insufficiency
Thanks Carol Ann. When I posted I’m not sure if I knew what was wrong with me. I was diagnosed with a biotoxin disease from mold exposure. There are very few docs in the country who know how to treat this so I flew to Atlanta and I’m being treated for biotoxin disease. The hump and swelling had been there before I was diagnosed with Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency which is consistant with biotoxin disease. First you produce too much cortisol and then it just dies. I am getting better and I am down from 20mg a day to 7.5mg. As the toxins are released and the infection clears I may recover completely. I feel so fat now and I hate the swelling and buffalo hump. My hypothalamus doesn’t know what the hell it is doing anymore. I’m optimistist about getting this under control. Thanks for the heads up I am going to have this checked and rechecked.

Look up Plastikos Surgery Center. The doctor I am seeing does breasts and is only doing explants at this time but other holistic MDs in her office will treat biotoxin disease. I think see saw me because I had a unique situation. It was a biopsy clip made from stainless steel that had nickel in it and I am highly allergic to nickel. Also I’m an activist and we are committed to getting the word out on biotoxin disease. I hope this helps.
