Has anyone had Liposuction ? Is it easier to recover ?
I have the opportunity to try this in April. Do not want to do this if others had no luck with it.
Please let me know. Many decisions to make before then!
Thanks

I have read about the Lypo-suction but haven’t gotten that far. I read about one woman who had it on her back and it helped and she felt better, but when they went to work on her arms, they used what is called a “dry type” of lypo and she was in so much pain and they couldn’t stop she said it was a horrible experience and wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I realize we hear all kinds of stories some good some bad. But it makes you think about how much your willing to go through. I really would love to have it on my stomach area, but my husband is so against it.
I haven’t had it. I don’t think I would, either, but then, most of my blobs aren’t really visible - I just look very fat.
I’ve read about terrific success stories - supposedly there’s some docs in Australia that does lipo for Dercum’s and it’s tremendous. But then there are people who’ve had it and they’ve had very bad situations, AND the dumb things seem to always come back anyway.
Not sure what to think. There’s so little documentation about this stuff. I’m going through the same thing about gastric bypass. I don’t know what to do - is it worth while or a potential disaster? I just wish there was a real registry where we could check this stuff out - X number of Dercum’s patients had lipo with a 5 year success rate, etc.
I know Dr Herbst is starting to do some of this, but even her information is going to be limited to the few hundreds of us whove filled out her survey.
Ugh!
