I had been using salagen for my eyes but my eye doc gave me restasis…And my friends;;IT HURT LIKE HECK; that stuff blistered my eyes. Any words of wisdom arou/nd today
Sorry I don't have any words of wisdom Susan but I have heard of Sjogren's patients not being able to use Restasis.
Why did you switch from the Salagen?
The Restasis burn doesn’t happen to me until about 3-7 minutes after I put
them in. It does pass. They aren’t intended to moisturize or soothe in the
moment. The difference in my dry eye overall after three months was worth 5 times
the burning I experience with the drops. If you can stand it for at least 15
minutes, my doc said it’s ok to use the other drops to soothe after at least 15
minutes.

Try washing your face first. Wash around your eyes well including the eyelashes...rub them back and forth. Let a little clear water get into your eye. Dab dry and while your eyes are still mositure put the Restasis in. Maybe the moisture will offer some relief.....like a buffer, perhaps. It's worth a try.
I was reading a book that suggested progestrone cream when i use this my eye pain goes away i use 1/4 teaspoon twice a day…and usally don’t need eye drops…but If I stop the eye pain comes back …anyone eles try this?
