Heart skips

hi im new here and have had anxiety forever it seems but my heart skipping drives me crazy anyone else have this

zoloft…weight gain for me…

Is that due to anxiety? I have heart palpitations which cause my heart to skip a beat but I have never made the connection…I am currently seeing two cardiologists to find the cause. How long do these episodes of skipping a beat last you? Ttyl

Yep, me to. Had all the heart tests done. I had to prove I wasnt having a heart attack. I was so scared I used to time my own own heart beats. Listen to every beat. Get nervouse when it beated funny or off. And then Boom the attack came on…I was making myself so sick.

Hello all just started a conversation before seeing this one…Yes i have had all the tests done the monitor the ekg ecg…but they still drive me crazy and make me soooo nervous

Gus hope your day got better and your feeling better…prayers are with you…Does anyone take medication for the anxiety/depression…I take Lexapro but would love to get off it as it does make you gain weight…

I used klonopin for the anxiety on a as needed basis… I believe the meds are a good tool to use along with some type of CBT thearpy…all people are different with meds as the lexapro didnt help the anxiety for me early on… Sonny

What natural "things " have you had results with?

Try magnesium for irregular heartbeats.   It’s a natural muscle relaxant.

Thanks Sonny that really helps…it gives me hope that i can get through this maybe med free if i could just learn to take the xanax when needed…I appreciate your response to my post and thank you very much…A friend Heidi

I think that exercise helps and i wish i could relax or have the time to do meditation as i think we need to have a place to just forget about eveyrthing else…I own a restaurant and work many hours so time is a luxury…Right now in NH it is soooooooooo cold that walking isnt an option sometimes i try walking but start to get anxious and want to just go back…

~ I first noticed my first anxiety attack while driving down the road one day. Nothing was going on - happy day - just boom my heart starting pounding so hard I pulled off the road. I thought I was having a heart attack! Then I would have periods of depression or feeling outside myself. Eventually I started taking Xanax and Zoloft. My normal heart rate is around 60 bpm and sometimes gets up to around 120-180 (as if on a stair stepper but sitting still) - which really freaks me out!!

The symptoms continued for about 13 years. After getting a new pdoc, I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder - having a chemical imbalance in my brain (google it to see if your symptoms fit the mold). I am now on some meds to control my symptoms and it seems a bit more stable, but by no means stops the deep depressive cycles! Here’s wishing you a happy and healthy day ~ hugs ~
