Hi Everyone,
Thanks for everyone who has been sending private messages and hugs with so much love showing concern about my health.
The pain was bothering too much without any break. I wasn’t trying to stay away from the Care Place. It was too much to handle as I was trying to avoid the hospital so I had to take breakthrough medicine and rest most of the time. Also I had some work to finish so whenever I was feeling little better I was trying to work as much as possible.
It takes lot of strength and get exhausted because trying hard not to end up in the hospital and also not to get dehydrated, not to get low BP etc. But I do get the pain under control little bit if not the whole pain doesn’t go away. That way I don’t have to miss my kids and sometimes their activities.
Since we came back from India last yr we haven’t gone anywhere or took a break. Everybody was so busy with their own routine lives. We all needed a break. In the Spring break couldn’t go as my daughter caught a bug and was sick. Then two weeks ago we planned and I got UTI so we canceled the trip. I took antibiotics and got better so last week we were able to go to Pittsburgh and for me it was so good to get out of the house and see something different. I love birds so when we went to Aviary we made sure we spent more time. We took pictures, taped, and recorded the noises of different birds. I didn’t feel like coming out leaving those beautiful birds. Then we went on the Incline cars to the top and get to see the triangle, where three rivers meet and see the city was very beautiful. It was so nice to see so many bridges that’s why it is called the city of bridges.
We didn’t want to run around too much. Because of my condition we cannot cover all the places in one trip. But we selected some places and were able to visit them. It was a wonderful trip, nothing to do, no cleaning of the house, cooking those kind of routine stuff. So, we had fun time. But while coming back we had to stop in the shoulder and take a shot.
Even though it was exhausting we all had some fun time.
Now I’m having feeding tube site excruciating pain, I think the journey did that as the vibration of the vehicle made the tube move too much. It was so hard sitting, or lying down in the van.
I got a new Physical Therapist who is trying to bring back my normal walk because of taking shots my legs became stiff and I limp a lot. The legs hurt very much too. The therapist is very nice and she is trying to make me feel comfortable with the exercises. I should exercise but at the same time watch out that I shouldn’t lose any weight. I do little bit of exercise biking, lift the weights for my shoulders and hands. She says I need to put on some muscle because I’m whole bones and skin. Hopefully all this works. But lifting the weights I mean very light but left side I’m not able to do because of the tube site pain. It is getting pulled or stretched and that’s hurting the site. So, we had to slow down. I’m remembering to walk normal bending my knees it feels like I’m learning to walk all over again. This CP thing has taken lot of things away from me. My normal life, always in pain, dependent on pain medication otherwise I’m not able to function whatever is normal for me. And I have two kids I do not want them to see me as a depressed person and it will effect their performance in every way. So, the life became a big struggle since then but it has positive effect on my kids and I can see the result with my son’s achievements. He is a wonderful writer, Piano player, Guitar player, good artist who is interested in cartooning,
Anime etc. He got accepted in NYU which is a dream college. We are very happy about it.
Enough about my life story. Thanks so much everyone for showing concern about my health and sending lot of hugs. I’ll try to get in touch whenever I can as my craft shows are starting and I’m not doing too many but they’ll take lot of time.
I wish you all very Happy Spring time. Enjoy all the wonderful days by getting out for a walk or sitting in the porch, or outside. If anyone is interested and have strength do some gardening go for it which is very good for both emotional and physical health.
I wish all of you have more and more relaxing, pain free days than the bad days.
Lots of love and hugs,
Durga.
