I found it....dr who is expert!

So, sorry I haven’t been posting, but I have been really sick, and getting ready for an ERCP from a Doctor I found at Vanderbilt University, that is an EXPERT in pancreatitis. I had an ERCP about 4 months ago, but I got acute pancreatits, and after that I couldn’t find a doctor that would touch me with a 10 foot pole, because of the risk of another life threatening Pancreatits. Anyhoo, I live outside of Nashville, and I am fortunate enough to live near Vanderbilt University, which is there. I finally became so ill with all of the private practice physicians, that I began to research the University Hospital and the physicians there, and their clinical specialties. That is how I found my doctor. Feel free to look it up. Google Vanderbilt University Hospital, then search for a doctor. The one I found is here at this link… cut and paste

I just had my ERCP and I have no flare up, and I feel better. I have a liver stint that will come out on it’s own in a couple of weeks. This Doctor understood my symptoms, and specializes in pancreatits. I hope this is helpful. I feel like I have found a compotent and compassionate physician that takes an interest in our condition. It’s his focus of study at Vanderbilt. If you have reached the end of your rope, and don’t know where to turn, and it’s within your reach, you may want to consider coming to Vanderbilt. What’s there to lose? I’m telling you, I was impressed, and I am quite picky when it comes to physicians. I hope this isn’t breaking the rules, but I just couldn’t hold back this info. I feel like my treatment has taken a real turn!!

Thanks for the info on this doc-- He seems pretty new to the field by his credentials, but I’m adding him to a folder I have, just in case. I’m out in Maryland, and am checking into the doc at the Univ. of MD who has been suggested, but will keep this guy in mind.

Sure hope he can give you some long-overdue help! Keep us posted!

Hugs,

Lisa

I am so happy for you!!! There is nothing like finding a doc who is good at what they do and have a great bedside manner. I will keep you in my thoughts that you continue to feel good post-ERCP. I was curious about the “liver stent” that you have. Is it related to you CP or is your liver not well. I have a fatty liver and my enzymes keep creeping up. So I am actually more scared ot the liver now than my pancreas. Thanks for the info! I live in KY about 3 hours from Vandy and have found out that the only GI in the state who does pancreas stuff is getting out of the pancreas biz. He is the only GI that will touch me because of my crummy health history and messed up pancreas.

Take care and I hope you continue to feel great for many days!!

Blessings,
Angela

The doctor received his training at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Those are the same good folks who diagnosed me. Divisum and chronic pancreatitis… with the side benefit of hypo-glycemia.
