Infant is Vomiting...What could be the Problem?

my grandaughter, 10 mos old…started throwing up…usually
in the morning.and is fussy…docs can’t find a problem…they are not
familar at all with 1p36…any advice requested

I want to thank you very much…for taking the time to respond. Means alot.

let me ask you…our grandaughers’s “vomiting” is mostly in the morning…
like after the first bottle…(normally ok after that)

would that make sense…being reflux?

hey thats ok i was on here anjyways hunni

could still be reflux …its worth getting her tested for it.

has she been tested for reflux hun? My daughter is now 16 months old has 1p36 & suffers reflux too

she hasn’t been ‘tested’ although i suspect she might have it. What did the test involve? Can you discribe what the symtons of your child’s reflux
was?

she just started vomiting for no apparent reason. they did a PH test on her stomach acid is was really quite simple

that does sound simple. Do you have a pedetrician who ACTUALLY KNOWS
SOMETHING ABOUT THIS SYNDROME?? It seems like we are “doctoring
the doctors”…?

no but they all communicate with my geneticist and deal with one problem at a time and they seem to be getting successful results too.

seems you have a good ‘team’ in place. thats great.

what is difference in reflux…and vomiting…or are they one/same??

does one…cause the other? educate a poor ole grandpa

reflux is basically uncontrolled vomiting caused by excessively high ph levels

yeah that sounds like reflux, that was happening to my daughter and I didn’t know and she had an apnea episode and had to me hospitalized so encourage the doctor to get her tested and also an xray of her upper GI to see if any fluids is going in her lungs.

Donald, the specialist that your daughter needs to see is a gastroenterologist. They deal with the digestive system. My son Ethan had reflux also.

Hi everyone,
My 8 year old son had reflux birth till he outgrew it…but he still has that whole projectile vomit thing from time to time.

Basically, the kid pukes…anything can trigger it. Textures, they don’t like in their mouth (oat meal, yogurt), or laughing too hard (usually in us–that when the milk comes out the nose–ha ha) but our kiddies–it’s DUCK–THE puke is flying out!

When Erik was young, they did all the testing and he was up to puking 5-6 times a day. My carpet cleaner and washing machine was getting a work out… Plus, his weight was low low low. The doctors threatened to put him on a g-tube, if his weight didn’t impove. I RESISTED. Told them, NO WAY! So the doc & I made an agreement, he would hold off on g-tube (like he would be able to do it without my permission–ain’t happening buddy boy-- ever heard of momma bear syndrome) if we could get erik’s wight up.

I ended up feeding him 6xs a day on stuff, I knew he liked. In this case, it was gerbers berry buckle dessert and I added crushed up graham crackers (he liked those) to “fatten it up”. Also fed him mashed potatoes with tons of butter anything to get his weight up. Of all 6 meals, he probably still puked up 4 of them…but he did keep some food down and he gained weight… G-tube averted. I do hope this helps any families out there.

Take care!!
