I am hoping someone out there can give me some guidance on this. Our daughter was born April 17th. She has a Dandy Walker malformation with hydro, and has had surgery for a bowel obstruction (duodenal atresia). She’s having her shunts put in tomorrow morning. She’s been in the NICU since she was born, 6 weeks now.I applied for life insurance for her with Gerber, where my other 2 children have policies. We’ve been with them for over 12 years now. I just received a letter from them declining coverage. Their reason was the DW. I called them to ask about it, I felt like they were just trying to pacify me with reasoning. She said I could send a letter to the underwriting dept. with doctors reports or anything that might help, and they could “review” it. Can DW be used as a reason to decline life insurance?
