Does anyone else have these conditions? Any suggestions for someone who has this?? I took pics of my swollen legs and feet and sent them to Dr Herbst and she said that is what she would diagnose me with. I am going to my PCP tomorrowbut thought I would see if any one has any suggestions for me on care and treatment…Thanks

Yes, please let us know what your doctor says. I am going to several doctors this week and I would like to know what to say to them. My feet are so swollen I can not wear shoes 2 sizes too big and my ankles are really big. I already take blood pressure and water RX. I can not ride in the car for any time as it makes my feet hurt so bad. The podiatrist said I have refractured a bone in my foot but they can not do anything due to my sugar being so high. A cast would kill me with this swelling. I am just using my wheelchair scooter and the swelling is still this bad. Good luck with your visit!!!Hugs, Grandma Sylvia
Yes, I have Lipedema and probably secondary Lymphedema. I belong to a Lipedema group, but I mostly just lurk and learn there. I have had lip since about the age of 12, but just recently found out about it. I thought I just had a very odd body type. There are treatments, but it isn’t easy to find a therapist who is qualified. If you write me privately I’ll give you the link for the group.

The doctor told me today that I have Lymphadema and wrote a RX for a intermittant venus compression pump. I will see if the insurance will cover it or not. He said my foot is swollen bad inside as well as outside and full of fluid. He is sending me to a specialist but he said I have so many things wrong with my ankle and foot they probably can’t do anything as my sugar is bad. He pointed out all the refractures, resprains and torn muscles and cellulitis and said he doubts they can do much. My Dr was not so good to me…He ignored all the info and even the pictures I had of my legs when they swell…My legs are red and he didn’t say anything…He didn’t even schedule another appointment…I think he has given up…Im just at a loss of what to do now…No insurance makes everything worse for me…
