I have 2 teenage daughters that have been diagonised with EBV, what do we do next? What kind of Dr. should be in charge of handling this for us? What kind of diet should they follow? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi, I was a teenager when I was diagnosed with mono. What I’ve read is that Chronic EB is prevalent in people who had severe cases of mono or relapse. This is just my own thought, but I’d say if the doctor says they’re ready to get back into circulation but you don’t feel they are, then listen to your heart. I’m sure they’ll be antsy to be busy again, but I think being gentle with yourself as you’re recoving is key. I relapsed, and I think the second time I had it was longer than the first time.
I hope that helps. Oh, one other thing but I don’t know if it’s true or not. A lot of mainstream doctors have a standard amount of treatment time with the anti-biotics. Maybe you check some sites run by specialists and see what they recommend as opposed to your doctor.
Best of luck to you,
Tracey
