Losartan

Did any one hear the NPR story on the use of Losartan for people with marfan’s? The people at John’s hopkins are reporting that the enlargement of the aorta is reduced in these patients who take losartan. What does any one else think of that drug in FMD?

here is a case report I will try to post on our site…

Dilation of Renal Artery Stenosis after Administration of Losartan

Presented by: Hypertension Research / Masayuki Tanemoto, Kei Takase, Takayuki Yamada, Akihiro Satoh, Takaaki Abe and Sadayoshi Ito
Summary points: A 22-year-old with hypertension presents with renal artery stenosis of fibromuscular dysplasia that was difficult to dilate even by cutting-balloon angioplasty. This case report details the approach to management, and includes a series of images. The present case suggests the possibility of remodelling the renal artery during the normotensive state by administering losartan after the angioplasty.
