Hi, I just want to know how many of you are using Miralax. My doctor told me to start using it @ 2 months ago. Is it safe to keep using it long term Thanks Mackie

i'm a nurse and we have several people who take it long term for maintaince...you should be just fine taking it long term....hope it helps you!!!

You can have my container of it. Bulkage is a trigger
for hard time pain and loose stools. I’ve tried 'em
all. No thinks. I would rather liver.

HI ,
I have been taking a RX genertic form of Myralax for the past year. My intestines were destroyed from massive amounts of anti biotics as a child. I never could go and my body became toxic. My systems were off line and I gained almost 100 LBS. I ate more fiber than a cow field and good organic foods. I was reluctant to have to take another medication, but I was desperate.
I am happy and proud to say that afer being on it for a year, I am able to go most everyday WITHOUT having to take it. I will take a dose once a month as a cleanse. It worked wonders for me and it was worth it. There was no damage done to my body, in fact it healed more.
The name of the RX is; GlycoLax 3350. I took 17 grams a day.

That is great for you. IBS affects every sufferer
differently. I have Miralax. I suppose I should send
it to you. I have trouble with excess gas about every
other day, … er night. It keeps me awake forever.
Miralax probably does loosen my stools, but I don’t
want them loosened. Having soft stools does a number
on my rectal area. Lots of hemorroids, major rashing
around the area on both legs. Even just flatuation
forces me to take a shower after a session, as well as
after every BM that is soft.

Congratulation. I hope it lasts. Be careful and not
catch intestinal flu, because that can throw you back
several stages.

Thank you for your reponse. Miralax is known to be more of a lubricant and i’m sure that in your case it would not help. As far as the flatuation I know that my sister takes a charcoal supplement as well as digestive enzymes to help her. She gets them from the natural health store or you can order some good products on line for short $.

If I can find anything else out from my nutritonalist, I will get right back to you. She is real good, trained in Austrailia and is helping me with a lot of new treatments that other dr’s have never tried.

I am 61 years old. I have had IBS for at least 60.998
years. Right now I take Pepcid for an acid blocker.
For some reason, virtually all IBSers have a hietal
hernia. Mine is big enough to through a football into.
I also take Clindex 4 times a day, as well a two
diuretics for high blood pressure. IBS pain has
caused my blood pressure to constantly be above 100 on
the lower, distolic end of the blood pressure the
fractional relational number. I have been hospitalized
3 different times, for IBS related problems, for about
a week, each time. I also have severe austeoarthritis
of the back, and gout.

I do not drink pop, anything fizzy, seldom any
caffeine, and don’t eat tons of stuff. Of course,
everything I love, I do not consume. I am addicted to
coffee, Dr. Pepper, chocolate, tea, … etc., but I
never drink them. I drink only water.

Because of the diuretics, I have constant dry mouth,
which is a killer on teeth. My teeth are falling
apart, but there is little I can do about it, except
spend tons of money on them. I have just recently
pulled 3 teeth, just to the left of my encisors. The
dentist wants to implant teeth at $2,000 dollars each
and then use a bridge. My dental only covers $1,500
in a calendar year. I shall wait.

I’m also the moderator for
irritable_bowel_syndrome2@groups.yahoo.com. Yahoo has
another IBS group, the same as above without the 2. We
started the second group because a guy from Canada was
trying to sell his HGH hormone crap on that one.
FInally, the owner of the group, kicked him off, but
we still keep the new one alive. It has about 100
members.
