I am brand new to this site and was wondering if many of you have a relative that has Multiple Myeloma? I recently met someone else who has cryo with a mother of MM and my mother does as well. Just trying to see if there is a connection. My doctor states there isn’t a proven connection. I think it is because we are so rare that they don’t have enough info on us to make the connection. What do you think?
No there is no history of MM in my family. However there is a history of
Rheumatoid Arthritis. In my case I believe the Cryo is a “by-product” of
some as-of-yet-undiagnosed connective tissue disease.

There isn’t any MM in my family. But, I do know that cryo is seen in people with MM.
When I was first diagnosed in 2000, I was having severe spinal pain. My rheumatologist had me go in for a body scan to rule out MM. He told me the two coincide, depending on what type of cryo (Essential, Mixed, Type 1 and 2…).
