My sister has been emotionally abusing me all our lives. She’s 48 and I’m 44. It’s come to a head lately because my naive mother has been pressuring each of us to mend the relationship. So, my sister wrote an email to me—full of subtle deceit, twisted pieces of truth, and lots of genius. I wrote an assertive letter back, to-the-point, about the real issues at hand. My sister then wrote a subtley malicious, more twisted, evil letter back (yet to my mother it would make her look like the good guy. This letter doesn’t deserve a response.
My brother’s wedding is this weekend. I plan on going. My energy around my sister and mother is very damaged. Any advice for the wedding and for the future?
