I really could use help in finding specialist for FMD. My Primary said need to get to University Hospital ( I live in South Florida).He spoke to an neuro in Miami who in turn suggested a nuero at U of Miami. called and earliest appt is Nov. I realize that University hospitals see patients from all over … is this an unreasonable time to wait? Should I try to look elsewhere? I’m just very tired and frustrated. It’s been 8 months since I had dissection, I’m on coumadin, no one seems to know what else to do as far as treatment or prognosis. Thanks for any infor anyone can give. Lucy

I recommended the Mayo Clinic, I know there is one in Florida…
although I do not know the distance from where you are.
I also recommend you find a neuro-vascular doc. I also have carotid
fmd, and I see a neuro vasc doc that specializes in the carotids here
in Minnesota.
