Hi,
I have been battling with being overweight for about 10 years. I used to be a normal weight before my hysterectomy, hormone and steroid treatments; now I feel very discouraged because when I try to lose weight the most weight I usually lose is about 10 pounds; the most recent program I looked at is Weight Watchers, but what is discouraging is the fact that the points add up unbelievably quickly, so about the only thing a person can really eat is vegetables; I was wondering if anyone has found a program that works well for them to lose weight;
Have you tried Weight Watchers’ Core program, it is better than its Flex
(points) program IMHO. But I actually do better on a program based on diabetic
exchanges, which my dietitian recently put me on. It is like the old,
pre-points WW program.
Actually probably the best bet is going to a registered dietitian rather
than finding a one size fits all diet plan. It really isn’t that expensive and
your health insurance might cover it.

Thank you for the information; the diabetic exchange sounds good; I will have to look into it; has it been difficult to adhere to so far?

Not at all. Lot easier than points and it really helps me keep my portions
in control, one of my biggest problems, and eat balanced meals/snacks. I
haven’t been hungry at all either, especially since she has me eating six times a
day – every two hours or so – which she says keeps my metabolism revved up.
