Hi tamijoy2000,
I don’t know if this will help you or not, but about 9 months or so ago I was having pain with EVERY meal as well. It was trapped gas in my small intestine. Usually gas is easy to take care of (not to be gross, but it either comes up or goes down) but this gas was trapped. It wasn’t going anywhere. And I’d be in a lot of pain about 30 minutes after every meal. It was awful!
I read “A New IBS Solution” by Dr. Mark Pimentel where he described Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) and I talked to my GI about it.
He was familiar with Pimentel and prescribed me the antibiotics without waiting for a breath test. I was constipated on the antibiotics, but after the course was done, I felt MUCH BETTER and I no longer have any pain after meals. Praise God I’m doing SO MUCH BETTER!!!
So maybe SIBO is worth looking into if you’re having pain after every meal. You might not even think it’s gas because this kind of trapped gas is much different than the “common gas” we all laugh about.
Also, anti-gas tablets and drinks don’t work with this type of gas. It’s trapped, and it hurts a lot! I know.
Interestingly, whenever I’m on antibiotics, they usually wreak havoc on my gastrointestinal system, but the antibiotics I was put on for this didn’t bother me at all because they are designed to stay in the small intestine. They didn’t kill off the flora in my large intestine at all!
I hope that helps!!! I know how awful IBS can be. I’ve had it for most of my life. I’m 34 now, and I remember getting IBS when I was around 10 or so.
Mark
