Novels To Read

With Asperger Syndrome or Autism as a theme, I have come across some biographies that might be interesting to you.

*

Look Me In The Eye
* It is written by John Elder Robinson. He is the brother of August Boroughs who wrote *
Running with Scissors
*. It is out in hardcover, right now.

*

Born on A Blue Day
* It is written by Daniel Tammet. He can visualize numbers as shapes and colors. I have just started to read this book, myself.

*

Louder Than Words
* Written by Jenny McCarthy. She has a son with autism, so it would be an interesting book to read.

There are probably more books that would be interesting to read.  Any other books worth checking out???

The Speed of Dark by Elizabeth Moon.  This is a novel about a man with Asperger’s or other high-functioning autism, working among other Aspies & autists, in a near-future where the issue of a possible cure, with all its positive and negative ramifications, comes to the fore.  Extremely well-written by the mother of a son with autism.  She’s written a number of SF novels, though this is the only one of her books I’ve read so far.  Well-drawn characters, and a plot that really grabs the reader.  Thought-provoking.

I see there are a number of new books available about autism. I might check out the Soul of Autism by William Stillman
