Hi all, I’m back to the forum having lost my internet for 5 days due to inside the office splicing of our wires…go figure. Anyway, I’m beginning to have all over pains, ankles, knees, elbows, HIPS, lower back and shoulders plus joints. I have a swelling in my right neck right above the collar bone and the pain radiates from it out along the collar bone and in the joint, this is all new and I’ve felt pretty invaded the past week or more. I’m really tired and by 7 PM and am ready for bed. Can anyone tell me if this natural with DD? Every where I touch something or something touches me it hurts and burns. Thanks all, love and hugs to you. Bev
It sounds like a classic case of DD to me. If you live where it is cold in the winter…the change of weather makes everything hurt worse. Sleep as much as you want as that helps the cells heal themselves. My pain level is such that I can only sleep for a few hours. I am so sorry you are fighting this horrible pain. Be good to yourself and just rest and do home PT. I would I could wish you well. Hugs, Grandma Sylvia
I have the same kind of pains sometimes. Recently I have been doing really good due to surgery and pain killers, but in the past I have had pains all over. It is sort of good to know that it is all DD related (thanks Sylvia). I sort of thought so, but wasn’t sure. I have pains all over sometimes, My joints hurt and my fat hurts. I have no lipomas in my upper arms but my son grabbed my arm the other day to hug me and it hurt really bad! He barely grabbed them, they are just so tender to the touch. Sometimes I feel like I have a sprained ankle, really intense pain but then it is gone the next day. Oh no wonder doctors thought I was crazy! LOL! It DOES sound crazy!! If you don’t know about DD it sounds so odd to have all these problems.
SuRi…we all thought we were hypochondriacs or crazy before we finally got the DD diagnosis and could read about it. My ankles have been “sprained” off and on for the last 15 years. They actually show up as sprained on MRI’s but it is due to DD. They swell up and everything and I can’t walk. I use ice and keep off it until it gets better…usually 3-5 days. Boy is that a drag! If I try to walk like a normal person…I pay for it. I can not walk on an uneven surface and other DD people can’t either! I have to stay on a paved surface or my ankles give out…no walks in the woods for me! My arms are covered. The bigger ones are clustered around my elbows. DD loves joints! Ankle joints, shoulder joints, hip joints, knee joints, jaw joints and the spine…all of mine covered in DD lipomas. If you run your fingers over my arm you can feel lumps on every inch of skin. They call the shoulders…“boulders in the shoulders”…the shoulder pain is so bad. Of course I also have chronic bursitis in both shoulders. I can’t even lie on my side. They go from my neck to my shoulders of course and continue around the shoulder joint. Hopefully none of you reading this will ever get as bad as me. I have had it for 40 years. Take care and stay warm. Hugs, Grandma Sylvia
I cannot walk like a normal person either Sylvia, walking up or down steps are rough, I feel like my ankles will snap at any time and I wabble. It is a scary feeling. I have always had weak ankles, I cannot count how many times I have sprained them. I try to be as careful as possible walking on uneven surfaces. I wear orthotics in my shoes most of the time. They help me keep my balance I walk on the outsides of my feet and that stretches my shoes that direction making it easier to sprain my ankles. I have mostly really small blumps there but very painful. I have always loved to get reflexology but I can barely stand for anyone to touch me feet anymore.
Hugs,
Brennie
