Hello, Has anyone had experience with a perm pump implant in the spinal canal? I have been through the education for it, the psychological testing and a trial implant with overnight hospitalization. It sounds wonderful, but I did have some fairly significant side effects - which the Doctor says will go away with time. With one of them being nausea and vomiting - I am concerned about proceding. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jamie
hello jamie, i am not sure if what i know is of any benefit to you in regards to the implant in the spinal canal. i and my doc spoke of this procedure some time back he was not as hopeful that this procedure is the way to go reasons being he has seen many ppl return because the implant moves and the benefit is lost. many must go back in2 the hosp for the procedure over and over again this being done builds much scar tissue. mayb in recent yrs this precedure has been tweaked that the movement of it is reduced therfore reducing the likelyhood of many procedures and build up of scar tissue. which is a whole other problem. its an awful rollercoaster ride when we find something that works for us but only causes other problems. hope this is of some benefit to you. ask your doc about the failure of the implant (staying in the proper place) . wishing you a pain free day. nancy
