Pancreatic flareups due to the change in the weather?

I was wondering if the weather could have anything to do with causing a pancreatic flareup? When it is cloudy and rainy outside, I usually have pain

all throughout the day! Or am I just going crazy? and is this just my imagination?

When i was hospitalized in January for another acute attack, one of my nurses had cp. She told me that when the weather changes, they see more pancreas patients. So, I’d said that your experience tallies with her comment.

She also suggested that i sit in bed at 45 degree angle with my knees up to ease the discomfort. That worked.

Good question. I know that there are certain times of the year that I suffer more than others. We have had a discussion on this on another forum I belong to and I think there is some evidence that may be true although I don't understand why.

This is an interesting subject... I've been 'sensitive' the last few days, without understanding or reason....but, I hasten to say, yesterday was bright and sunny, and today it was gloomy and rainy. Mr Pancreas felt the same ache on both days..

Shifting from Winter to Spring is a bigger topic... I'll be aware now..

Hi Vonnie, we can't ever know 'why'... Can we answer why we're here in these bodies??

After so many years I've learned, the trick is how to cope and maintain inside happiness which maintains the outside smile, which maintains those around us to keep smiling back ...

I find that the temperature effects how I feel, particularly extreme cold or heat(and here in MN that is common). I doubt that the anyone knows why at this point, but if you pay attention to when you don’t feel well temperature can be a factor. Then dress appropriately.
