Pancreatitis and Fibromyalgia

I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I am trying a protocol using guaifenesen. (Mucinex).

Do any of you have fibro or tried this protocol? How have you handled it with your pancreatitis?

Vonnie

I have fibro, I take cymbalta 60 mg daily and it helps a lot, sometimes
I take a 30 mg with the 60 on bad days, there is a med out for it called
lyrica(I think I spelled it right or close) some people have goodluck
with it, I just do not want to add more meds then I already have, the
cymbalta is also an anti-depressant and God only knows I need that also!

Julie

I was given a drug, but it made me dizzy and I felt like I was listing to the left.

A friend told me about the Mucinex protocol and I am trying it. It has NO side effects. You can buy it over the counter. (It is used for colds).

If you are interested in reading about it you can go to fibromyalgiatreatment.com.

Be careful with Lyrica, I had a very bad reaction to it not saying any of you would, but that is when the pain clinic told me there was “Nothing” more they could do for me! Wasn’t very happy about that, but what do ya do…Wishing you a pain free day/night…

I also have trialed Lyrica with not so good results. The side effects were way too much for me to handle so I stopped it. WRT guaifenesin, just watch out for nausea. Believe it or not, that is the mechanism of action for the drug, it hits what is called the chemoreceptor trigger zone which induces nausea. Other than that, the drug is relatively safe and certainly could not hurt.

I have a big book on this protocol with guaifenesin. It is interesting. Thanks for the warning on the nausea.
