Questions you wished you'd asked earlier?

I have recently been diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis, probably idiopathic. The damage has been occuring for “some time”. I have an appt with the pancreatic specialist Nov 20.

I am putting together a list of questions to ask. As you’ve all been where I am going, I wondered if you could help me out with your expertise. What are the things you wished you’d asked earlier or that you did ask that gave you information that you wouldn’t have gotten without asking?

I would be happy to share the list of questions that I have compiled thus far and update you with the completed list of questions that I get from you. The list is fairly long so let me know that you are interested and I can email it to you.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Julie,
Could you email the list as well? I am going to see a specialist at Jackson
Memorial Hospital at the U of Miami in Florida and know I will forget some
things.
Hugs,
Jackie

Julie,
I am sooooooooooooo happy that you are pain free today! Always wonderful
news. Have had some rough days and hold out til I come home from school to
take a pill. Have connected with a doctor at Jackson Memorial Hospital
(Miami). He is suppose to a big specialist concerning pancreatic diseases…
will keep you posted. Has anyone heard from Janelle? I think of her and
pray for her. Hoping she is hanging in there and doing okay.
Sending a big hug!
Jackie

Julie & Jackie,

I emailed the questions to you yesterday or the day before. If you have not received them, tell me and I will resend them.

Thanks

i got em !!! you did a fab job, i am not sure if i could add anymore, i am going to reread them this weekend and i will be back in touch, you are awsome !
julie

I got it, thank you very much. Here are a couple more questions that I though of. Hope they help as well.

  1. Why are the amylase and lipase levels sometimes within normal limits even though there is an obvious problem with the pancreas?

  2. What is this “mysterious" pain that often occurs in the upper middle abdominal quadrant that can radiate out to the left and right?

Thanks for all the input. You have helped me refine my list of questions and given me several answers. This stuff is so scary and I am grateful for all your help. It makes me feel that I am on the right track with my questions. So at least I feel that I have a little bit of control of my life and the changes I can expect.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
