Hi all, is anyone having problems with chest tightness, rapid heartbeat and shortness of breath due to this disease. My heart skips a beat every now and again, I get out of breath and have a cough that sounds wheezy, I don’t have asthma, lung disease or heart problems. I’m wondering if there are lipomas that could be pushing on things causing these problems.
Any info would be most welcome.

I too have the rapid heartbeat. I have been to the cardiologist and had all the tests and nothing turns up. Not sure why, the doc just told me to lay off caffeine and sugar.
Go get a chest xray, sweets. I read something about that somewhere online. It said that it is very important to monitor them if you have those conditions. I will look and see if I can find where I read that. If anyone else saw that please put in where it is. I hope I can find it for you.

I have had the rapid heartbeat, slow heartbeat, and skipping beat thing for at least 15 years. Thank goodness, it’s not all the time. I have heard of someone having an alien in the lung, so it woukd be a good idea to have that checked out. While you are at it, have some cardiac tests! I have done that, and all was well with my heart, but you may be dealing with something other than DD. Sometimes we tend to blame everything on it when there may be something else going on.

I am on oxygen and for the last 3 years they haven’t figured out why. My heart tests came back fine and my lungs are ok. I do have very high levels of carbon dioxide according to my bloodwork. I am on oxygen 24/7 2 liters. The last lung specialist I went to gave me this advice. don’t take as much pain medicine, loose weight and excercise. HA HA i thought. I guess I will be on oxygen forever… ??? My ox levels drop very low for no reason. I do have tightness and pressure in my chest and Dr. Herbst is very aware of it. She suggested a few tests to have done and I have through my internist. The tests came out ok but when they walk me around without oxygen it drops, even if I am sitting and talking it drops. WEIRD huh???
i am the same been on oxygen for around 3-4 years though i do suffer from asthma and heart probs there is nothing to say why i need oxygen 24/7 when my conditions are stable, i also get very rapid heart beat and chest tightness , only the last 3 days been getting really bad chest pain which again had before but found everything to be ok so don’t won’t to bother my gp about it [cardic appiontment on 26th ] mention it then but please get everything checked out first before blaming it on DD spoons and hus to you all HELEN
My heart goes out to you Helena and Stonel. I have been diagnosed with tachycardia for about 15 years. The cardiologist said he will put in a pacemaker if it bothers me much. So, not at the moment I have too much else going on. I get my C-Pap soon. My oxygen level was 50% of normal during the test. I quit breathing like 60 times in a couple hours. They said I will have more energy and burn fat better as you need oxygen to burn fat. Does being on oxygen make you guys loose weight? My goodness everyone. My heart goes out to all of you that are going through this. I have irregular heartbeats every now and then but usually only when I am upset. I will pray for all of you. May g_d bless you and watch over each of you.
