I’m just back from a Whipple procedure on Sept. 14 of this year. I was having no problems other than a little pain. Two and a half weeks later I had a GI bleed. I have not been able to advance my diet past broth and baby pasta. Gastric paresis has been mentioned. Anyone heard of these problems? I started at 106 lbs. and are down to 89lbs. I see TPN in my future. Any advice is appreciated.
Did the docs mention what was causing the gastroparesis? Is it a pseudo obstruction or a mechanical blockage? I would try to find out why they are talking paresis. Have they started you on Reglan yet? That is the gold standard start for gastroparesis. There are many side effects from the med but it is a blessing to many.
