Recovery time

What is the recovery time for the surgery

it really depends on the person. i think avg is abt 12 weeks. i was
not an average case - - i took five months. i had a massive tear in
two tendons. i am doing pretty well now. i keep up with the therapy
at home. i had three months of formal therapy. are you going to have
surgery soon?

work towards emptiness and openness
cultivate stillness breathe harmony become tranquility
as ten thousand things rise and fall
rise and fall
just witness their return to the root…

It will be a year next month. My biceps tendon tore completely. I passed on the surgery and recovery and now I just look like Popeye.> To: murph1028@hotmail.com> From: rotator-cuff-cpt8622@lists.careplace.com> Subject: Re: [rotator-cuff] Recovery time> Date: Thu, 17 Apr 2008 17:32:23 -0400> >

I had rotator cuff surgery (had to have two pins inserted because it was
torn off) and I had therapy for 4 months afterwards and I’ll be honest, it was a
good 9 months before all the ache was totally gone. Good luck to you

Thanks for your reply. I am not choosing surgery. I went to therapy as long
as Medicare would pay. and am much better I have hardly any pain except when I
reach to do things like hang clothes on my line, which is rather high up.
I do exercises (not as often as I should) and I think that helps some.

Thank you for your replies. The arthroscopic surgery is for a close friend who is quite stressed.

I am told I need the surgery also. They tell me 6 weeks in a sling and two more months of therapy. Who has the time for that nowdays??? My shoulder seems to be improving for whatever reason but sleeping can be a pain sometimes and anything above shoulder heigth is an issue. How bout you?

Odd that my blurb just got posted as I put it on a year ago. With me, it was my bicep tendon, which I guess gives alot of the same symptoms as a rotator cuff. Anyway it snapped and I was looking at 6 months rehab or look like popeye in one arm.
