Sick of chronic pain

Hey  everyone.   Crystal is having trouble with being able to reply to anyone’s mail right now, and she wanted me to let you all know.  It’s either a computer problem or problem with this site.  She loves everyone and being able to talk back and forth is really important to her…She’s here, even though we can’t get her words right now.  Hopefully the problem will correct itself soon.  Love to you Crystal.

Does anyone know anything about kyphosis? This is the first time I have been able to write in the forums, so I apologize for the absence.

I just went to my Rheumatologist and he gave me five trigger point injections with lidocaine and decadron. Did not help. He also prescribed for me the extended release oral morphine. Have not taken the meds yet in addition he wants me to go on Cymbalta which is an anti depressant but works for pain. Also the Sleeping pill Rozareim. I am afraid to take meds since I have such strange reactions and I live alone. I also have Fibromyaligia and this week was hell. My ex hub sent his check very late and i was in a state of panic. ALso very lonely being divorced. My daughter is in visiting but she will be returning back to Pa and her husband. I will miss her so much. Being alone is so hard. What do I tell someone if I decide to date again ?> Who would want me ?

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I haven't written in sooner.  I had a problem about a week ago which I'm still not sure what happened. I was drinking coffee and it went down the wrong way resulting in a coughing spree. During the coughing spell it felt like a balloon popped in my lower spin. From then until know I couldn't sit or stand for long periods of time so I was not able to use the computer. Everything seems ok now as it seemed to correct itself.

The real reason I'm witing is to try and find some answers to a problem I have been having.

At night just as I am falling to sleep my body has been doing some strange things. Sometimes my arm will go fliing out an then back hitting me in the face or my leg will kick the wall all by itself. My back also does some strange movements. These things have been going on all by themselves with out any help from me.

If anyone knows what I'm talking about or can explain the above I would appreciate hearing from them.

Thanks and hugs all around.

Grannygray.

Granny gray you may be having syptoms of restless leg sydrom or restless limb syndrom, same thing. But during the night you will have involentary movements of your arms and leg. I am sorry I dont know much else about it but that is most likely what it is and you can investigate it on google with the name of the condition. I wish I could be more help but thats all I know. Still looking for someone who knows about kyphosis. Anyone with any info would help.

Kyphosis (round back) is a spinal deformity associated with Scoliosis.  An extreme example is the Hunchback of Notre Dam.

Hi Calikat,

I don't know if the hunch Back of Notre Dame had Scoliosis or not.  Some people believe he had the same condition as the elephant man and the curviture of his spine was caused by a large tumor that made the curvature look worse then it was.  Sorry can't remember the name of the condition the elephant man had.

Hugs for everyone

I didn't mean the Hunchback had Scoliosis....I was just trying to describe what the condition looked like. Probably not the best example, huh? Couldn't think of another example.  I do know that it is a condition associated with Scoliosis in most cases.

I  now a few people that suffer from Kyphosis. One of them won his disability case on Kyphosis even though is was very mild. He also had a  pile of other problems that added to his winnings but Kyphosis was the kicker in the case. I would have to say that he is such a handsome kid regardless of all his disabilities. We are not our bodies even though some days it sure seems like it. Don’t let your pain take away who you really are. Let who you are determine what your body will and won’t do.

Hi FLfibrogal....I have to respond to your question of who would want you.  My answer is that it will be someone who sees who you are on the inside.  We have illnesses...sometimes we feels like they have us.  But truly as people we are not our illnesses.  It takes a special person to love you for who you are.  Some of us are blessed to have found that type of person and some of us have not been blessed that way yet.  Who knows, God may have saved the best for last.   When I feel lonely, I talk here, or call my kids or visit my friends or have them visit me.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.  I guess I feel that it's better to be alone than be lonely when you are IN a relationship.  Have faith that you are dear and precious because you are YOU...and you matter.  Never, never, never quit!!!!

Many hugs to all,

Christina

Hey Granny,

I have restless leg syndrome and my legs and body are all over at night. I take medication which seems to help quite a bit. Some people even have a pins and needles feeling or the "need" for movement.  My huband notices the movements more than I do but lately I have beel sleeping in the recliner because it is much more comfortable on my back at night and in the morning.

Talk to your doctor about it. I don't think that there is a test for it, just more of a exam and questions. Good luck and I hope you don't hurt your self in the process. No one would believe you if you told them that you gave yourself a black eye.
