My daughter is scheduled to have surgery to have her MFH tumor removed from her upper right leg/hip/buttock area. Is there a surgeon in the U.S. that is an expert in removing such a tumor?
Dr. Jason Weisstein was my ortho-surgeon when he did a two year stint in Tucson, AZ (where I live) in 2004-2005. He removed the MFHs from my left thigh, and three from my left paraspinal muscles.
He specializes in sarcomas, and I would recommend him to anyone who has orthopedic sarcomas. He now is located at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, where he previously did a five year fellowship - performing over 150 surgeries for sarcomas. Here is his web site:
The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is one of the best sarcoma centers in the country.
Dr. Weisstein works under Dr. “Chappie†Conrad, head of the sarcoma team.
I hope that you will consider Dr. Weisstein.
With HOPE and LIFE.

Where are you located? I would strongly suggest going to a Cancer research
hospital that specializes in Sarcomas. (Sloan Kettering in NYC, Dana Farber
in Boston, John Hopkins in Baltimore etc.)

Subject: [mfh] Surgery for MFH
Here is the web site from the SarcomaAlliance that gives all the known sarcoma hospitals in the country -
http://sarcomaalliance.org/centers.html
Explore those that are nearest to your home.
But, do it ASAP…
Young people that have sarcoma are at great risk,
as the tumors grow faster - than “old fogies” like
me (at 77).
