Thinking of you all

Well it is a hot and muggy day here in Connecticut ~ counting the hours ~ To all of you suffering from RA ~ there are good days and bad ~ but know that the path you are walking is not a lonely one ~ there are literally thousands just like you ~ looking at me ~ then back to you ~

There are things we can do ~ such as letting our Congress know that they need to spend money in finding a cure ~ Contact your senators and tell them we need to be heard ~ THE MORE, THE MERRIER !

I write my constantly ~

My best friend was just diagnosed with arthritis ~ she has a twisted coccyx bone ~ which is affecting her hips ~ legs, spine ~ god bless her ~ and she is devestated ~ and now taking morphine for the pain~ She started with diabetes ~

I have done research and research on RA ~ to the best of my knowledge with all that I have read ~ methotrexate, plaquenil and mobic should be prescribed as a little of each ~ Believe me I have done homework ~

Just like you and you and you, I had a very hard time accepting this diagnosis. My blood work showed positive, false positive ~ and finally oh yes ~ I had it ~

I think the hardest thing to accept is that “I am not the same person I was” ~ as I see many of you also have this feeling. The most important thing in all of this disease is that you take one day at a time.

Live each day, to the best of your capability as possible, without overdoing it because you have had a good day ~ Put some limits on yourself ~ baby steps add up to be a giant step ~ once your on a roll, you can do it ~

Please above all be kind to yourself ~ dont be hard ~ a slow steady roll is great !!

Once you get over the big shock of the diagnosis, do some research ~ And please dont get discouraged ~ Remission from all of this takes time ~ and you will get there !

Use Care Place to your advantage ! The internet is filled with lots of good information and there is also a bit of bad information out there as well ~

Coming to a place like this has SO MANY advantages ~ We are all here for a reason ~ USE us to help you ~ as your input and knowledge will help others also ~

Dont be afraid to ask a question ~ I am in hopes that many people will share their knowledge and experiences ~ so we ALL learn ~

Be sure to write questions down ~ as you think of them ~ and bring them here ~ Post it so we can help !!!

Above all be sure that you have a good rhumetologist ~ one that you feel good with ~ one that you are able to communicate with ~ one that you trust ! If you have a negative experience ~ he dosnt want to answer a question that you may have written down ~ Move on ! Find another one ~

I went to one when I was first diagnosed ~ He looked at my questions on the paper and laughed ~ I said to myself ~ he’s not the one for me ~

From my experience ~ this rhumetologist was “a self appointed” rhumetologist ~ I no longer go to him ~ I found one, the best in the state of CT, and went for an evaluation, assessment, and am so glad that I did ~ Once I felt I had the complete, and I mean the complete picture ~ I chose one in the next state over, close to where I live ~ and can honestly say I am getting great care!

Please dont hesitate to ask me questions ~ I will share with you my experiences and hopefully learn from yours also ~

God bless all of you ~ Stay strong ~ and remember, one day at a time…
