Can the symptoms of LS come and go through cycles, or even disappear for a while? Do the white patches continue to grow in size, or can they disappear while the skin tears remain?
I find that symptomes can be controlled to a point with treatment, but the cuts are harder to control and need to be blitzed to make the skin good again. Twice a day for a week or two. We are now using Protopic although I did resist it for a long time, but have now been convinced by a very senior dermatologist that its benefits outweigh any supposed disadvantage!!! The only problems seem to be if we don’t keep an eye on the symptoms and then we have a little girls who has scratched and bled and who is back to the beginning again!!! Our daughter who suffers this hideous condition, along with some psoriasis, is only eight and a half. She has no idea, and is not as yet at a stage of being able to comprehend this disease.
