Toilet Training for Hirschsprung's Disease?

Hi I have a daughter with HD she is now 19mths old and wanting to start to toliet train but everytime we start she isnt very comfortable sitting on the potty or the toilet and becomes very disstressed. When I trained my son (no HD) I had no problems I was just wondering if its not time for her (but is letting me know when she has a dirty nappy) any help would be great.

Hello. My daughter with HD is now 3 and is just barely getting the potty
training under control. She has been peeing in the potty for over a year
with no problems, but was always very uncomfortable trying to go poop on the
toilet. It would sometimes take her up to an hour to finish once she felt
the urge to go, so I think that was part of the problem. Every child is
different, but worked well for her was to take her at the same times
throughout the day and ask her to try to go poop. I tried to make the
environment as comfortable as possible for her. For example, she always
liked to hide when she went, so we would let her bring in a blanket or use
the curtain to hide behind until she got more used to going. I also got her
a padded toilet seat which she loved. It can be difficult, but I think it is
normal for a child with HD to have a hard time with potty training. Good
luck.

There is a great book for kids called potty learning.

Forget training, it implies forcing a child to do something. I read it to my son once and he got it, and started using the potty after that.

good luck
