Understanding Menopause and What to Do About It

When a woman goes through menopause whether it be natural or surgical, her estrogen drops 40-60% because we still produce it by way of body fat, plus it is stored in the bowel and then gets recycled back into the blood stream. Our progesterone, on the other hand, drops to near zero and we no longer produce it anywhere else in our body like we do the estrogen. We may still produce a very tiny amount by way of the adrenal glands, but by the time we enter menopause, our adrenals are so exhausted that they are no longer producing much progesterone, if any at all.

When our estrogen level is higher than our progesterone level, we start seeing a lot of ugly symptoms such as sudden weight gain, especially around the hips, tummy & thighs, loss of libido, loss of hair, loss of sleep, depression, moodiness, high blood pressure, heart palpitations, restless leg syndrome, itchy crawly skin, vaginal dryness, hot flashes, night sweats, bowel problems, yeast infections, headaches, high cholesterol, insulin resistance and the list goes on. Estrogen causes water retention and weight gain. Also the more weight we have, the more estrogen we are going to produce. It’s a vicious cycle that never ends until we get our progesterone level up and balanced with the estrogen.

There are some women who are fortunate and don’t gain the extra weight. These women may need to supplement with natural estrogen, but most of the time, we have found that progesterone was all they needed. The reason for this is because progesterone is a precursor to estrogen, so if the estrogen level is too low, the progesterone will in most
cases go in and wake up the estrogen receptor sites and they start producing estrogen again and get the level up to where it needs to be.

Drs. make the mistake of putting women on more estrogen when their level is already HIGHER than the progesterone. They’ll either put them on horse urine (Premarin) or estradiol which is the hormone responsible
for stimulating breast cancer cells. The key thing that we want to do, is get our progesterone balanced with the estrogen, by supplementing with a good natural progesterone cream in order to bring back hormonal balance.

Once we supplement with a good natural progesterone cream and get our progesterone level balanced with the estrogen, these symptoms start going away. We start seeing the weight come off, the depression goes away
and so on and so forth. I lost a total of 32 pounds during the first year that I got started on a good natural progesterone cream. I went from a size 18 to a size 10 in less than a year. I also had every symptom listed above and they have all gone away as well, and I started this new journey 4 years ago and am still going strong.

Once you understand what is actually going on in your body and why, then you have a better understanding of what you need to do to reverse these symptoms. Drs. make us believe that all we need is estrogen and that is NOT true! Adding estrogen to a woman who is already estrogen dominant, will only increase her problems.

I know what you ladies are going through, because I’ve been there, done that and bought the t-shirt! But I am now symptom free and am trying to help others who are now going through what I’ve been through.
I hope I’ve been some help here.

Blessings,
Rhonda

Where do I get the cream and how much do I use! I need something to help me… I’m dealing with full blown menopause - no periods for almost 3 years and I’m 45 now…and my daughter has IBD and is very sick - I need more patience…more SLEEP… and I’m so depressed. If a simple cream could help, I want to get it!

I need to be me again. I lost me when I lost my periods at 42 years old.:frowning:

Janis, I used progestrone cream several years ago before I had to go back on birth control to prevent ovulation. It was great! We have a compounding pharmacist (old fashion kind, makes up some of the meds from ingredients on hand) near my home. You might check with your health food store until you hear back from rbeagan.

rbeagan, welcome to careplace, I think you will be a great asset for us!

Rachel

I wasn’t sure how much of the cream to use and how often - I know for a fact that I’m out estrogen and I refuse to go on HRT …too many risks of cancer in my family and in my own situation actually - another story! But I would like to try the cream. I’ll go today to the health food store and see what they say. Thx again Rach:)

Hi ladies!

Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply. I was on a business trip and just got back late last night.

If you want to use the cream that I use, you can get it at wholesale at:

www.ineways.com/hormonequeen

Go to “Products” then type “Endau” in the product search and it will take you right to it.

I’d be more than happy to answer any questions that you have. You can also read my story on my website at: www.hormonalhappiness.com

Every woman is different, so the dosing can be different for everyone. I would have to know some specifics about each woman before I could tell them how to use the cream, such as height, weight, are other hormones being used and where they are in this menopausal journey.

Blessings,
Rhonda

Hi! So good to hear from you:) Thx for getting back to me.

I’m 45 and my periods ceased and I was dx’d in full blown menopause - no more estrogen basically at age 42! 3 years now… I won’t take HRT but if I was to get progesterone cream, I am 5’3" 113 lbs. If you need to know anything else, just let me know. Would love to hear what I can do naturally to feel ‘good’ again as I’m taking care of a sick child as well and am very stressed out! Menopausal side effects are better lately (hot flashes are not as frequent) since my daughter’s periods stopped for 3 months due to her illness. When she had it going regularly, she really effected me and I could tell she was getting her period based on my symptoms i.e., heart palpitations and hot flashes. I could literally tell her she was getting her period the next day but now I have no symptoms since her periods have ceased. Taking her to gynecologist this week to find out if she’s ‘ok’ in the hormone dept. and if her illness (IBD) is causing her menses to cease right now. Looking into an ultrasound of her ovaries.

Anyway - thx for getting back to me. Please let me know if I can buy the cream in a health food store and if so, how much of it to use and how to use it.

Thx again -

Hi Janis,

You can get natural progesterone cream in health food stores, (but not the Endau) but you have to be careful what you get. You don’t want a cream that has glycerin, petroleum, mineral oils or phyto-estrogens.

The first 3 ingredients mentioned will clog the pores of the skin and stop the absorption of the progesterone from getting into the blood stream. If the cream has phyto-estrogens in it and an estrogen dominant woman uses it, it will only cause her progesterone level to be even lower. I know you said you have no estrogen, but natural progesterone is a precursor to estrogen, which means that if you add natural progesterone to the system, it will, in most cases, go in and wake up the estrogen receptor sites which will then allow the estrogen to come up while at the same time allowing your progesterone level to come up with it. This does work in MOST cases.

If it does not work for you, then you may need to get your Dr. to prescribe you some NATURAL estrogen that you can get from a Compounding Pharmacy. It’s the synthetic estrogen that you do NOT want to use. I would first give the natural progesterone a 3-6 month chance and see how you do with it. I also need to know how many mg. per ounce of progesterone is in the cream you will be using. This is also important, because not all creams are created equal.

Rhonda
