Update on logan

I’m not sure how many of you have read our story but i was mistaken in that he has total colonic hd. he did get put on the transplant list on 9/11 this year. right now though he has to have a surgery to amputate his leg. while at UNC hospital they put a line in his left leg and the catheter came out of the vein and the tpn went into his leg instead.

The docs have tried everything to fix it including a skin graft bt he has lost too much tissue along with a vein and nerves. it has a chronic infection so in order for him not to reject a transplant he has to lose his leg. he has had so many bad things happen to him it would be great for something good to come his way.

Blondie,
We will be praying for Logan.
What was his actual diagnosis?
What is he on the transplant for? Small and Large intestines?

I will be praying for Logan.

I am so sorry to hear about Logan’s leg. I can’t even imagine and I really don’t know what to say except that I hope the transplant goes well. It seems so unfair that innocent children have to go through these horrible things. Before I got connected with other HD parents I felt so sorry for us and all we had been through. Now I count my blessings. I think having a child with health issues makes me so much more aware of the fragility of life. I know that none of us take our children forgranted. Thank you for sharing your update. The next time I feel frustrated with Chase’s HD ‘issues’ I will think of Logan and be reminded of our many blessings.

I am so sorry to hear about Logan’s leg. We will certainly be keeping him in our thoughts and prayers. Do you have any idea how long the wait for a transplant will be? Of course, I am sure that there isn’t really a “typical” for this kind of scenario, but I hope it comes quickly for you so Logan can get back to being healthy as soon as possible. Please let me know if there is anything you need - anything at all.

We will be keeping Logan and your family in our prayers.

Your baby is in our prayers. Sending much love your way

How is Logan doing? We are thinking of him often and hoping he is doing well. Our prayers are with you also - this is undoubtedly such a stressful time for your family. Hang in there.

I am sorry that he has gone through so much already. I hope that his future is full of health and happiness
